Gel antimicrobial dressings "OpikUn" ®
TU U 21.2-39157124-002:2014
Purpose
Gel antimicrobial dressings are intended for use as an independent surgical dressing in surgical clinical institutions, in hospitals, trauma and burn centers, first aid kits, in specialized clinical hospitals, burn centers, ambulance stations, dental clinics, as well as for completing first aid kits and in home and field conditions.
General information
Gel antimicrobial dressings "OpikUn" ® belong to the new generation of products made on the basis of gel. Gel dressings provide a protective cooling effect that provides immediate relief, prevents wound infection, burn progression, and bacterial growth. The dressings are impregnated with a water-alginate solution with the addition of the disinfectant polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride. Due to the specific microstructure of the material and the presence of antibacterial properties, the dressings do not stick to the wound, accelerating tissue regeneration and reducing discomfort when changing the dressing.
Technical characteristics
Antimicrobial gel dressings "OpikUn" ® are manufactured in the form of strips and napkins of various sizes.
Indications for use
Non-purulent, non-bleeding wounds of various etiologies; Burns of I and II degree of any origin (solar, chemical, thermal, mechanical); Traumatic and postoperative wounds; Any household skin injuries, animal and insect bites;
Contraindications
Should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to the components of the bandage.
Principle of therapeutic action
Low toxicity of the disinfectant in bandages with significant bactericidal activity is achieved thanks to the enzyme system of the human body, which leads to the degradation of the polymer, which in turn prevents its accumulation in the body.
Method of application
• prepare the wound, clean it of non-viable tissues, treat with an antiseptic solution;
• apply a gel bandage to the wound from any side;
• fix the bandage with any dressing material for no more than 8 hours, it is advisable to carry out the procedure several times a day, at least 2 times a day;
• for first-degree burns, apply a gel bandage to the burn surface and secure it with any dressing material. Repeat the procedure after 7-8 hours until the pain subsides and the swelling subsides;
• for second-degree burns, you must seek medical help. Gel bandages "OpikUn" ® are not the main treatment for second-degree burns, but are only an auxiliary dressing material. If the wound is dry, it is recommended to change the bandage more often than every 8 hours, since after absorbing exudate, the bandage tends to dry out and may stick to the wound.
Operation requirements
The non-sterile gel bandage is packed in an individual waterproof sealed bag. Shelf life 3 years.
Storage conditions. In a dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
Special warnings
WARNING: Before each treatment of infected wounds or wounds that heal poorly, a complete medical examination should be performed to assess the condition of the wound and identify factors that prevent its healing. Treatment with antimicrobial gel dressings cannot replace the treatment of the underlying disease that slows down the wound healing process. In the event of spontaneous bleeding, swelling, and other complex cases, the condition of the wound should be assessed by a doctor. If the dressing has dried and stuck to the wound, do not tear it off, it is necessary to moisten the dressing with a weak solution of furatsilin, rivanol, hydrogen peroxide, or other antiseptic. After removing the dressing, it is recommended to disinfect the wound with an antiseptic.
Disposal
In order to minimize the risk to public health and the environment, it is recommended to dispose of used gel dressings in special containers for used dressings.
Special instructions. Do not reuse.
