Recently, a social media post featured a report about a girl displaced from the ATO zone and her mother.
The 1-year-old, 7-month-old girl, Sasha, was admitted to the children's burn unit of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 2 with a diagnosis of "stage I-II boiling water burns to 30% of the face, neck, torso, and both upper extremities, severe burn shock."
Many caring people responded to this family's plight. Zentex employees also pitched in. Using funds raised by Ninel Kugar, volunteers from the United States purchased and donated 40 packages of OpikUn™ gel wipes and 25 packages of OpikUn™ gel bandages for treating burns and wounds to the children's burn unit.
Lyudmila Stanislavovna Sochienkova, Head of the Children's Burn Unit, gratefully accepted the volunteers' donation. Sasha's condition has now returned to normal, with only slight redness remaining. Mother and daughter are being prepared for discharge. However, the department still has many young patients with burns of varying degrees who also require medical care, so all unused OpikUn™ gel dressings were left in the children's department for other injured children.
Lyudmila Stanislavovna shared her experience with Zentex employees regarding the use of OpikUn™ gel dressings for burn treatment:
"Yes, indeed, we are already familiar with OpikUn™ gel dressings. We actively use them for dressings, applying them to the burn surface after cleaning and treating the affected area of skin for first- and second-degree burns." I would like to point out that the dressings are easy to use, do not stick to the wound, and the dressing process with OpikUn™ dressings is painless and atraumatic."
Zentex plans to continue collaborating with the Children's Burn Unit of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 2 and provide assistance to all who need it.
